Steve Hussey Obituary

Steve Hussey
Mar. 31, 1953 - Dec. 6, 2015
Resident of Gilroy, CA
Steve was the fourth son of Sybil & James Hussey (both deceased) and identical twin of Paul Hussey, the only remaining son. Steve was preceded in death by brothers Rick and Jim.
Steve and Paul founded Hussey Bros., Inc. after Steve's honorable discharge from the army in the mid 1970's. Hussey Bros., Inc. has been a leading HVAC company in the Bay Area and its success is largely due to Steve's work ethics, dedication to detail, his fantastic group of employees & his long term relationships with his customers.
Steve is survived by his wife Marlys, his son Steven Michael, daughter Elizabeth (Dave) Slaten, and their children Kevin & Sarah. Steve had a close relationship with his 3 step-children and their 3 children, and his extended family through his first marriage to Patricia Hussey. Not only was Steve an amazing husband & partner, he loved playing with his grandkids, which brought out the 'kid' in him!
Steve was someone who loved life. Vacations, though rare, were mostly spent in Mexico with iguanas, lazy rivers & beer! He loved people and never spoke badly of anyone. He was always willing to lend a hand and help. Steve was a very kind man. He had a special weakness for Grandma's & Grandpa's when their heaters would go out. He was always ready to take portable heaters to them until Hussey Bros. could do the repairs!
You are invited to join in Steve's Celebration of Life scheduled for Friday, Dec. 18th at 1:00 PM at Gilroy Center for the Arts, 7341 Monterey St., Gilroy 95020. Stories that you can share about Steve are welcomed!

What an amazing man . .

He saved our company; when no one else would work weekends with a Friday panic call, he asked his workers to go above and beyond (they did for him), and saved us with an installation. (Upon another company waiting to last second then not showing-up to force us to pay triple costs..)

Then we found the heart in the man over time; with his services, came kindness, hard work, and caring that the job be done to perfection - and his customers treated almost as family. . As Paul is too.

Steve has gone way before his time.. Much love to you. You've left a great Light on this world in your path.

Every year when we would come to Andrew's birthday we would visit with Marlys and Steve. Jim and I enjoyed our visits talking and sharing stories with him. I will miss his great smile. He was a good grandpa to Andrew and he will be missed.

I will miss his hugs most of all. He was a loving, wonderful, positive person.
