An avid San Francisco Giants fan, he rarely missed a game, a passion he shared with his son Andrew. In lieu of flowers a donation may be made to a charity of your choice or to the SJSU Chapter of the American Society of Civil Engineers. Memorial services will be held Friday at 4 p.m. at St. Peters Episcopal Church, 178 Clinton Street, Redwood City.

Dear Joanne,

My heart goes out to you during this extremely difficult time. Though I never had the pleasure of meeting Steven, he had to be a special man to win the heart of such a special lady.

Thinking of you,

Kelley

He never missed the annual Concrete Canoe Race and was known for his enthusiastic support of SJSU's team. The student chapter plans to set up a scholarship fund in his name. Mr. Arnold,

This is too sudden and sad. I can honestly say that I am proud to have been your student in your plane surveying class 17 years ago as a freshman at San Jose State. Your instruction had an impact in my life, which is saying something since I'm not in the Civil Engineering profession. Ultimately, I'm not far detatched from it because my father is a retired engineer and my best friend is a traffic engineer, who took your route surveying course. Today, I'm in the surety bond business underwriting many public works projects all over the state for my building and engineering contractors.

I can personally attest that underneath your fiery personality was a man who had a genuine concern & interest for his students, university, and community. You will be greatly missed but NEVER forgotten.
