James McEvoy Obituary

James Donald McEvoy, Jr. James Donald McEvoy, Jr., age 72, of Boston, died Wednesday, December 29, 2010 at Culpeper Regional Hospital. He was born January 16, 1939 in Kingston, N.Y. to Marion Quick McEvoy and the late James Donald McEvoy.

Mr. McEvoy grew up in Laurel, Md. and worked for AT&T for 30 years. Mr. McEvoy had a passion for vehicles and loved vintage Chevy's from the 50's and 60's. He was a judge at the Culpeper 4th of July car show for many years as well as a member of the Madison Stew and Squirrel Car Club and the Saturday Morning Breakfast Car Club.

His second passion in life was his cats and dogs, which there were many over the years. His current best friends were Bruno, Zorro, Bitty and his constant companion Chloe. Mr. McEvoy was a Master Gardener and transformed 14 acres of woods into a park like setting that he called home. In addition to his mother; he is survived by his wife, Patricia Ann McEvoy; his son, James "Jimmy" McEvoy, III of Martinsburg, W.Va., and various extended family and close friends.

His father and sister, Margaret Thompson preceded him in death.

A memorial service to commemorate a time of remembrance and reflection will be held on Saturday, January 8, 2011 at 11 a.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville, Pike, Culpeper.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to your local rescue squad, the animal rescue organization of your choice &/or the Friends of the Library, 271 Southgate Shopping Center, Culpeper, VA 22701 An online guestbook and tribute wall is available at www.foundandsons.com

I worked with Jim for a few years while with AT&T. We both worked in Oakton in the RTM group. Jim was friendly and fun to hang around with. I am sorry to hear his passing. He will be missed, Brien Weissenborn
