W. Flohr Obituary

Beloved father, husband, and grandfather, Stuart Flohr, passed away unexpectedly. "Papa" was deeply loved and cherished by his three daughters, Jessica, Sarah, and Jenny, and his 10 grandchildren: Kayla, Dominic, Jessie, Joe, Ryder, Jaelyn, Maddie, Max, William, and Jaxson. Little more than a big kid himself, Stuart lived in the moment and his focus was on spending time with his kids and grandkids. Stuart was the hero of his town growing up as he pitched no-hitters in little league and all-stars, but was the most modest, unassuming man - kind and gentle- he adored kids and animals.Stuart grew up in Saratoga, CA attending Saratoga High School, and went on to graduate from the University of Colorado - Boulder in 1979 with an electrical engineering degree. He later added being a licensed electrical contractor to his list of accomplishments. Stuart married Gretchen in 1980 and they moved from California to Virginia, back to California, on to Illinois, and back to California where they finally settled in Grass Valley in 2021 looking forward to what would be their golden years. His loss has formed an unfillable void and he is greatly missed.Stuart kept these words from Ralph Waldo Emerson in his notes and they embody who Stuart was and how he lived his life: "To laugh often and much, to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children; to earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends; to appreciate beauty, to find the best in others, to leave the world a bit better whether by a healthy child, a garden patch, or a redeemed social condition, to know even one life has breathed easier because you lived. This is to have succeeded." Stuart Succeeded.
