Xavier Keelan Obituary

How does one write an obituary for someone so young? How do you write these words about your son? First, you should know that Xavier was a beautiful person. He was extremely kind and caring towards others. He deeply loved his mother, father, and his brother and sister. Xavier was well mannered and respectful towards all. He was very handsome and often was mistakenly identified as much younger than he was.He attended St. Francis High School in Mountain View, where he played JV basketball as a Point Guard. In his junior year he moved with his mother and father to Hawaii, where he attended Hawaii Preparatory Academy in Kamuela Hawaii, on the Big Island. He played Varsity Baseball and excelled in Varsity Basketball, earning First Team All League in the BIIF, as well as Honorable Mention All State for the islands of Hawaii.During his college years he attended Cal Poly San Luis Obispo State University earning a bachelor's degree in Agri-Business. He helped finance his extended stay in University by working for a Software startup called Mindbody, where he was a top performer.Following his desire to be with his brother and sister, he moved back to the Bay Area and settled in San Francisco. Xavier worked for Zenefits, Cisco Meraki, Human Interest, Zendesk, and Indeed as a Software Salesman. He loved animals, especially dogs, often saying he "had a moment of direct communication" with them. Xavier had a charming way about him that made him easy to talk to. He loved the SF Giants, Redskins, Warriors, and San Jose Sharks, often displaying an encyclopedic knowledge of statistics, facts, and history of each team.Xavier is survived by his parents, Jane and Vince; his older brother, Matthew (Nicole); his older sister, Lei-Lani Keelan Wenzel (Will); his nephews, Isaiah Castro, Matthew Keelan, Cash Keelan, and William Wenzel V; and his nieces, Charlotte Wenzel, and Olivia Wenzel.A Funeral Mass will be held at 3pm on Thursday, January 19 at St Justin Catholic Church, 2655 Homestead Rd, Santa Clara. Dear Vince and Jane, my heart breaks for you at the loss of Xavier. He was such a sweet person. He and Aaron played basketball together at HPA and although Aaron was several years younger, they became quick friends. Our deepest sympathy goes out to you and your family. May Xavier rest in peace.

Xavier, you always brightened my day and made me smile. We only worked together for a year but we grew close and I´ll always cherish those Friday happy hours and watching the blue angels together at your apartment. Rest I´m peace.
