Audrey Stern
Audrey Stern, 91, passed away Saturday May 3, 2025, at the Deerfield Care Center, New Richmond, Wisconsin.
Audrey was born October 25, 1933, to Fay and Lillian (Moorehead) Lenhart in Sioux Rapids, Iowa. She attended school in Sulphur Springs, Iowa. She lived on the family farm until she married in 1953. She married Verle Stern on May 24, 1953. They had four children.
She was very outgoing and loved spending time with family and friends. She enjoyed playing cards, bingo, and doing word search puzzles, and occasionally going to the casino. When she was younger, she canned vegetables from their large garden, and meat from the animals they raised. She was an excellent cook. She liked the old Country Western music, and liked watching the RFD Channel, and the Game Show channel.
Audrey was loved by all her family and friends; she will be deeply missed. Especially the friends who lived at her apartment, The Homestead, who looked after her and made so many great memories together. Special thanks to the staff at Deerfield Care Center and Optage Hospice who helped care for Audrey.
She is survived by children Donavan of Hibbing, Minn., Pam (Rick) Stoner of Hammond, Wis., sibling Doris Bratsch of New Ulm, Minn., eight grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild, and numerous nieces and nephews and friends.
