Daniel J. Malterud
Daniel J. Malterud, 87, of Fayal Township died Wednesday, March 12, 2025, at Essentia Health-Virginia.
He was born on January 29, 1938, in Bemidji, Minn., to Ingvald and Florence (Brennan) Malterud.
Dan worked for the Minnesota Department of Transportation for 37 years retiring as the Maintenance Supervisor for District 1.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce; daughter, Lori (Tom) Ross; daughters through marriage,
Lisa Gunderson, Cheryl (Gordon) Orak, Amy (Brian) Namchek; 8 grandchildren and one great grandchild. His brothers, Bruce, Bob and Lee Malterud and sister, Pat Tangborn.
He was preceded in death by his son, Tom; his parents, two sisters and five brothers.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 25, 2025 at United in Christ Lutheran Church, Eveleth. Pastor Jeanne Madden will officiate. Visitation will be one hour before at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
