Darrell H. Leseman

Darrell H. Leseman, 82, of Eveleth died Monday, August 25, 2025, at Essentia Health-Virginia.

He was born on December 17, 1942, in Bigfork, Minn., to Henry O. and Lucy (Follett) Leseman. Darrell lived in logging camps until 1949 and attended school in Northome until 1957 when he then moved with his family to Eveleth and continued his education. He married his high school sweetheart, Gloria Platner on September 21, 1963, in Eveleth at the former Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.

Darrell worked for Piggly Wiggly in Virginia until starting his employment with Eveleth Tac in 1965. He retired in 2001, after 35 years of service. Darrell enjoyed restoring old cars, playing guitar, fishing, hunting, gardening, being at the cabin on Long Lake and enjoying a few beers with friends.

He is survived by his sons, Jim (Beth) Leseman, Dan (Lori) Leseman; grandchildren, Sarah (John) Brezinka, Emily (Ryan Hake) Leseman, Adam (Jared Johnson) Leseman, Katie Leseman; brothers, Ronald Leseman, Jerry (Sandy) Leseman, Ricky (Steph) Leseman and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Gloria; grandson, Ryan; sister-in-law, Jeanette Leseman and his parents.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 5, 2025, at Resurrection Catholic Church, Eveleth. Celebrant will be Fr. David Forsman. Visitation will be one hour before at the church. Burial in Eveleth Cemetery will be at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to Resurrection Catholic Church.
