Dennis W. Leff
Dennis W. Leff, 87, of Virginia, passed away peacefully at Essentia Health St. Mary's Medical Center in Duluth on Friday, January 24, 2025 surrounded by his family.
Dennis was born on September 30, 1937 in Grafton, North Dakota to Louis and Ann Leff. After graduating from Grafton High School in 1955, he attended the University of North Dakota, participating in ROTC for two years.. He then moved to the Iron Range in 1957 where he was employed through the years at Pearson's Grocery Store, Piggly Wiggly, Virginia Water and Light, Dyno, and Environmental Energy.
He was a great husband, father, partner and loved his family. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, nature and the great outdoors, reading Louis L'Amour books, and in later years rummage sales and thrift store shopping.
Dennis was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 37 years, Nora; parents Ann and Louis Leff , and one sister, Loretta Shell.
Survivors include his life partner of 25 years, Joanie Laugen; his two sons, Joseph Leff (Jeannette) and David Leff (Natalie); granddaughter Tiffany Leff (Mike) and grandsons Dustyn Leff (Kayla) and Dylan Leff (Kelsey).
A memorial service will be 1 p.m. Saturday, February 1, 2025 at the Landmark Funeral Home Chapel in Virginia with a visitation one hour prior to the service. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Gilbert VFW from 2-4 p.m. following the service. Burial will be at a later date in Calvary Cemetery in Virginia.
