Eileen Johnson Goetzke
Eileen Johnson Goetzke, cherished mother and grandmother, peacefully went on to be with her Lord on July 7, 2024, at the age of 92 with her family at her side.
Eileen was born in Gilbert, Minn., on November 28, 1931, to Einar and Sadie Sissala, In 1954, she married Robert (Bob) Johnson of Makinen, Minn., with whom they raised five children. Following Bob's 1991 death, she married Haldor Goetzke of Eagan, Minn., in 1998. They spent 18 wonderful years together.
Eileen's family was the center of her life. She built a lasting family legacy, living out this value by intentionally investing in the lives of each child, grandchild, and great-grandchild. Her faith was equally as important. Prayer, sharing Jesus, and giving generously to all were a regular part of Eileen's life. She also enjoyed spending time with church friends and participating in Bible studies. Eileen loved music and served as a church organist for many years. Eileen was a beacon of love and faith throughout her life.
She will remain in the hearts of her children Pam (Mike) Wagman of Carlton, Brad (Cindy) Johnson of Stillwater, Paula (Jim) Weinzettel of Hastings, Brian (Diane) Johnson of Stillwater, and Eric (Carla) Johnson of Independence, 19 beloved grandchildren; and 26 great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and special sister in law, Judy Drobnick of Eveleth, MN.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Einar and Sadie Sissala; two husbands; and brother, Allan Sissala.
Eileen will also be lovingly remembered by Haldor's family: sons Larry, Craig (Lisa), and Roger Goetzke; Sana Aries-Winton; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
