Janet Elizabeth Licari
Janet Elizabeth Licari, 89, of Biwabik died Tuesday, September 3, 2024, at Essentia Health-St. Mary's Medical Center in Duluth.
Janet was born on June 30, 1935, to Jack and Jennie (Rivers) Maki in Biwabik. She graduated from Horace Mann High School in Biwabik, Class of 1953. She furthered her education at the Minnesota School of Business. On June 6, 1959, Janet was united in marriage to Roger Licari at St. John's Catholic Church in Biwabik. She had been employed as a secretary for the Eveleth Mines and later as the City Clerk for the City of Biwabik until her retirement in 1997. Janet enjoyed volunteering for the BACA and organizing class reunions for her high school class and the Licari Family. She was a member of St. John's Catholic Church and its CCW.
Survivors include her two sons: Reggie (Cindy Koreen) Licari of Hibbing and Regan Licari of Eagan; one grandson, Grant (Anna Sohlstrom) Licari of Rochester; a brother, Gerald (Sharon) Maki of Biwabik; as well as several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Roger; sister, Donna; brother, Ronald; and her parents.
Funeral Mass will be 11 a.m. Saturday, September 14, 2024, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Gilbert with Fr. David Forsman celebrating. Visitation will be one hour prior to Mass at the church. Inurnment will be in the Lakeside Cemetery in Biwabik at a later date.
Arrangements are by the Ziemer-Moeglein-Shatava Funeral Home of Gilbert.
