Joan L. Estep
Joan L. Estep, 94 of Ft. Myers, Fla., and Eveleth, Minn., passed away on January 6, 2025. She was born in 1930 to Sherman J and Ethel (Jackson) Talle in Eveleth, Minn., where she grew up and graduated from high school in 1948. She graduated from Macalester College with a degree in elementary education in 1952 and went on to teach in Two Harbors, Minn., and St Louis, Mo. She later lived in Stillwater and Lakeland, Minn., and in her later years she enjoyed summers at her lake home in Eveleth, Minn., and winters in Fort Myers, Fla.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Shirley; and brother, Charles Talle.
She is survived by children, David (Janet) Estep, Lynne King, and Daniel (Rona) Estep; grandchildren: Michael (Rachel) Estep, Steven (Katherine) Estep, Nicole King, Emily King, and DeLorean King; and 2 great-grandchildren.
We were blessed to have her in our lives all these years and will miss her kindness and love. She requested that no memorial service be held, but that those who knew her remember the good times they had together. Memorial donations can be made to Covenant Presbyterian Church music program, Ft. Myers or Northern Lights Music Festival, Gilbert, Minn.
