Joyce Lahti Obituary
Joyce Jeannette Lahti passed from this world Wednesday, October 8, 2025, at the Waterview Pines Care Facility.
Joyce was born in Virginia, Minn., graduating from Roosevelt High School and then earning an Associates Degree from Mesabi Community College. She worked in retail sales and design at the Iver Johnson Lumber Company before working as Assistant Manager and Buyer at Jarmins Womens Clothing.
Joyce was involved in many social organizations including Eastern Star and Ladies of Kaleva. Even in retirement she assumed leadership positions in residents' councils. Joyce enjoyed travel, gardening and music.
Joyce was preceeded in death by her son Rick, and long time life-partner Donald Stickney. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Vieno (Onkamo) Jalonen, her sisters Hazel ( Kenneth Marks), Verna (John Spolarich) and brother Jerome (Dorothy) Jalonen.
She is survived by her son Ron Lahti, nieces and nephews, grand nieces and nephews.
Special gratitude goes to Dan and Faye Spolarich and Kendra and Larry Steenerson and their children for their support and tireless assistance. The family also extends recognition and thanks to the caring staff of Waterview Pines Care Facility.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, October 13, 2025, at Waterview Pines Care Facility, Virginia.
