Margaret Ann Gust "Muggs," a beloved mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and grandmother passed away peacefully surrounded by family on February 7, 2026, in Virginia, Minn.

She wanted this to be short and sweet – so here we go.

Margaret was born on September 1, 1942, in Little Fork, Minn., to Patrick and Ethel Donahue. Margaret's youthful and caring nature left an undeniable mark on all who knew her. Margaret dedicated the last years of her life to traveling and spending time with her family. Her interests were as vibrant as her personality. Margaret's love for animals and her family was unparalleled, and she often expressed this through the time she spent with them, the care she provided, and the joy she found in life's simple pleasures.

Margaret married Ernest Gust "Ernie" in 1962 in International Falls, Minn., and relocated to Mountain Iron, Minn., where they developed very close friendships with neighbors and coworkers. Margaret and Ernest became particularly close to the Glissman family, often referring to Mike and Penny as the parents to their acquired grandchildren, Meghan and Tommy.

Margaret's legacy is one of unwavering devotion to her husband Ernest Sr., son Ernest Jr., and daughter, Christine. Margaret's memory will be treasured forever, as we hold her close in our hearts and remember her zest for life, her unwavering love, and laughter she brought to our lives.

A special thank you to family, friends, and neighbors for being part of her life. She really cherished your friendship, love, and generosity you showed her during her time of need.

Margaret's laughter, her love of life, and her ability to make everyone feel cherished will be sorely missed but never forgotten.

Per Margaret's wishes, no services will be held.

Interment will take place at St. Thomas Catholic Cemetery in International Falls, Minn., on June 20, 2026.
