Myron Denbrook Obituary

Myron 'Mark' Elwood Denbrook III

Myron "Mark" Elwood Denbrook III, 72, passed away on Tuesday, August 6, 2024, at his home.

He was born on January 21, 1952, in Grand Forks, North Dakota, to Myron Jr. and Eve (Carter) Denbrook.

Mark was a 1970 graduate of the Red River High School in Grand Forks, and earned his Bachelor's Degree from the University of North Dakota (UND) in 1975, where he was a proud member of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity and huge fan of "Fighting Sioux" athletics.

In 1986 Mark was hired by the Hibbing Public Schools as an Audio-Visual Director and finished his career as an elementary school Media Specialist.

Mark was a strong supporter of UND and made a substantial contribution to the renovation of the Chester Fritz Auditorium, a facility designed by his father Myron.

Mark was a big sports fan, and especially enjoyed playing and watching golf. Mark was a proud member of the Mesaba Country Club, and served as a golf coach at the Hibbing High School for several years. He was a big movie buff and loved going to the theatre when he had the chance. His all-time favorites were the James Bond movies.

Mark's friends would like to thank his many caregivers who took such wonderful care of him when he became homebound. A special thank you to Vickie and Gina DelGrande who provided Mark a great deal of support and care for several years.

Mark is survived by his many close friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Myron & Eve.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, September 19, from 3:00-6:00 p.m. at Checco's Bar. All are welcome to come and share their memories of Mark.
