Ryan Matthew Monacelli
Ryan Matthew Monacelli, 47, of Minneapolis, Minn., entered into his eternal rest with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on April 26, 2024.
He was born on April 30, 1976, to Mark Monacelli and Jill Korpela-Bontems in Virginia, Minn. He grew up in Wuori Township and attended Virginia elementary and high schools. He studied drafting and held various jobs over the years.
Ryan enjoyed the outdoors and loved to hunt and fish. Some of his favorite activities were duck hunting at the Vermilion River shack and spending time at his grandparents' home on Lake Vermilion. He was the family "rockhound" and would sometimes walk for miles in search of the perfect agate. He loved reading and always made sure his Bible was with him.
Ryan loved his family deeply and would do anything for them. He had a soft spot for children and was a loving father and uncle. His life was filled with high peaks and deep valleys. Throughout all his struggles, his family and Christ were forefront in his thoughts.
He is survived by his three sons: Evan Monacelli, Drake Monacelli (Emily Peacock), and Finn Monacelli; father: Mark Monacelli (De Ana Thompson); mother: Jill Korpela-Bontems (Jerry); brother: Justin (Margret) Monacelli; niece: Lindsay (David) Hernandez; nephew: Noah Monacelli; great-nephews: Ezra and Roman Hernandez; uncles: Steven Korpela and Jon Monacelli; aunts: Gail (Lars) Oakman and Deb Monacelli; several cousins, and friends.
Ryan was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Geno Monacelli and Shirlee Brown, maternal grandparents Harold and Shirley Korpela, and uncles Jay Korpela and Paul Monacelli.
A funeral service will be held at Woodlands Bible Church in Eveleth, MN, Wednesday, May 15 at 11:30 a.m. with Justin Monacelli as officiant. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Lunch will be provided afterward. Burial will be at a later date at the Sand Lake Cemetery in Britt, Minn.
