Elean Lemrick Obituary
Elean Viola Taylor Lemrick was born in Kilgore, Neb. in Cherry County on July 17, 1914 to John Adams and Lilly Taylor. She was the eldest daughter and from an early age helped care for her three brothers and two sisters.
She moved with her family to Idaho in about 1934. Like many people fleeing the dust bowl, she learned how to do a lot with very little. The family lived in Star and Nampa briefly before they settled in Garden Valley. That is where her brother, Elmer, introduced her to her lifelong love, a sweet young man from Missouri, Carl Lemrick. They were married on April 11, 1938 and loved each other dearly for the next 60 years. They felt blessed with their two children, Jean and Jack and were great parents for them.
Elean was energetic, never idle and seldom bored or boring. She always enjoyed a good laugh with her family and friends and they with her. She loved children, and her children and grandchildren were fortunate to have her in their lives.
Some of her grandchildren's memories:
David: As a small boy, as he helped her and Carl build a house. He always laughed when she "bended" a nail.
Tyler: They were the finest country folk you would ever meet.
Matthew: Absolutely a deadly gin rummy player with a poker face a pro would envy. She would spend hours playing with her grandkids. She was also a fine farm-style cook.
Carla: Laying under the ironing board watching her and chatting.
Justin: Lots of chocolate ice cream.
Her husband, Carl; son, Jack; and grandson, Andy Lemrick predeceased her.
She is survived by her son, Jack's daughter, Carla Lemrick and her children, Kaitlin, Daley and Jackson and Jack's son, Justin Lemrick; her daughter, Jean Day and husband, Al and their family, grandson, David and Annya DeChambeau and son, Alex Jake and David's daughter, Shiela Annie, Gregg and Janelle Bingaman, their daughters, Samantha and Katie and her son, Cory, Denise Delp and daughters, Ashley and Amber and her daughter, Payton, grandson, Tyler Day and Tina Murrell and daughter, Leah, grandson, Matthew and Christine Day and children, Sage, Eden Ryan and April.
She died on Tuesday, February 5, 2008 at a Boise, Idaho care center.
Services were held on Monday, February 11, 2008 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Emmett and burial followed at the Emmett Cemetery. Services were under the direction of Potter Funeral Chapel.
