Janet A. Thiellen,74, of Emmett passed away April 4, 2021, at home with family by her side. She was born in Emmett to Richard S. and Anita Joyce Carlock at Mary Secore Hospital February 28,1947.
Janet attended school in Emmett. She spent a lot of her younger life on the ranch in Ola with her parents, aunts, uncles and cousins. She also spent many weekends on Squaw Butte riding her horses. She worked at the Horseshoe Bend Sawmill in her early years. She then took a position at a vet clinic that turned into her dream job. She loved animals, so it was a perfect fit. After a couple of decades of running her horses in a few states, at several tracks, including her favorite, Les Bois, she retired from racing and had pasture pets, as she called them, and her cats.
After retirement from St. Lukes she enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She will be remembered for her great heart, cooking, baking and love of animals. She will be sorely missed, but never forgotten.
Janet was preceded in death by her parents, and son, Brent. She is survived by her son Theodore (DJ) Riley, daughter Tangie Riley (Shane Colton), her grandchildren, Christopher, Danielle, Richard, Kodie, Tosha, six great grandchildren and numerous cousins.
Graveside services will be held at the Ola Cemetery on April 16, 2021 at 11 am. Services are in the care of the Potter Funeral Chapel of Emmett.
