Shirley Ann (Phillips) Selvidge
June 11, 1938 - February 10, 2017
Shirley Ann Selvidge passed away peacefully on Friday, February 10, 2017 in Roswell, New Mexico. Shirley was born in Emmett, Idaho on June 11, 1938 to parents Harry Raymond and Yvonne Adele Phillips (Caperon). She was the oldest of three children and was raised in Emmett. Shirley attended secretarial school and spent most of her career in banking and real estate. On August 13, 1955 Shirley married James (Jim) L. Gibson and gave birth to her daughter Deborah Raye Hammer (Gibson) on March 15, 1957. In 1958, Shirley and Jim divorced and Shirley later married Harry Selvidge. Shirley and Harry remained together until his death in 1974. Following Harry's death, Shirley lived in Elko, Nevada; Emmett, Idaho; and Capitan, New Mexico. Shirley was always accompanied by one or more of the many tiny dogs she loved and cared for during her life. Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, Harry R. Selvidge, parents Harry R. and Yvonne A. Phillips and her sister-in-law Billie Gay Phillips. She is survived by her daughter, Deborah Raye Hammer (Gibson), her brothers, Ronnie Phillips and Tom Phillips, grand-daughters, Shanda Fortenberry (Flynn) and Lindsey Frostrom (Flynn), six great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
