Stephen Thomas Obituary

Services for Stephen D. Thomas, 62, of New Plymouth, Idaho, will be held at 2 p.m. Friday Dec. 13, 2013, at the Potter Funeral Chapel in Emmett, Idaho. He was born on Oct. 16, 1951, in Caldwell, Idaho, to Waldo and Lucille Thomas. He entered into rest at his home, Dec. 6, 2013, surrounded by his family and his girlfriend, Laurie Macrae.
Steve served six years in the Army National Guard. He was employed at Boise Cascade for 15 years where many fond memories and friendships were made. After his retirement, he made a living raising cattle and livestock on a small ranch outside of Emmett. Steve was an avid hunter and an accomplished hound's man. He spent time guiding hunts and outfitting. Outside of his family, the outdoors and hunting were his greatest passions. Steve wore many hats in his lifetime, but his greatest accomplishment was raising his two children.
Steve was preceded in death by his mother and father.
He is survived by his daughter Lisa Thomas-Rhoton, son Jeffrey Thomas, his two grandchildren Colton and Kinsley and his sisters Linda Stuede and Shari Knuass.

I had heard that Steve was not well but did not know he scope of the situation, I just now learned of his passing. My name is Al Kranbuhl and I run the Traditional Working Airedale message board of which Steve was along time member. While we had our disagreements I respected Steve's knowledge of hunting dogs. His stories and dog advice on the board were some of the best, he will be missed.

Happy Hunting Steve.

This had been a hard year for the Thomas family with losing our Dad and now my brother. I have lost two of the greatest men in my life. It is hard to recover from such losses. Steve has been my "rock" through thick and thin and I will miss him so much. Steve was known and loved by so many people and will leave a void that will never be filled. He was such a great father, son, brother and uncle. I will miss his sense of humor although I was the victim of it many times. I tried to get the best of him and really can't say that I did because he was already 2 steps ahead me and knew what was up.
I was blessed to have such a loving brother and he will always be in my heart forever. Until we meet again.
I love you, Steve.

Your loving sister
