Larry McCoy Obituary

Larry Dean McCoy, 74, of Metropolis, passed away on Sunday, Oct. 1, 2023, at the Ray and Kay Eckstein Hospice Care Center.

A memorial mass will be held at a later date.

Larry was retired from the United States Army and had served three tours in Vietnam. He was a member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus.

Larry is survived by his wife of 54 years, Marsha McCoy; one daughter, Laurinda Rideout (Jon); three sons, Lawrence McCoy (Casey), Patrick McCoy (Pamela), and Christopher McCoy; 12 grandchildren; six great grandchildren; three sisters, Gloria Briggs, Sandy Smith, and Donna Burch; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Frieda (Hogg) McCoy; daughter-in-law, Amber McCoy; siblings, Nancy Fleenor, James McCoy, Judith Sullivan, Robert McCoy, Patsy Turner, David McCoy, and Fredrick Smith.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Aikins-Farmer-Loftus-McManus Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions may be given in Larry's name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.aikinsfarmer-millerfh.com.
