Sandra Sue (James) Sundmacker, of Rosebud, was born Oct. 28, 1941. She went on to her reward in Heaven on Sept. 7, 2025. She was 83 years old.
Sandra was a lifelong active member of Antioch Baptist Church in Rosebud, where she served her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in many ways. She has taught Sunday School, worked in Vacation Bible School, served as church secretary, sang in the choir, and generally supported the work of the church in every aspect of her life. Sandra loved her church family. The two things that Sandra is known for the most are telling everyone she met about her Jesus and being such a powerful prayer warrior.
Sandra was preceded in death by her loving husband, Charles Sundmacker; her parents, William "Pete" and Eva James; her brother and sister-in-law, Richard "Dickie" and Sharon James; and an infant brother, Ricky James.
She is survived by her son, Brian Sundmacker of Rosebud; her daughter, Chandra Burklow (Keith), of Metropolis; granddaughters, Amanda Alston (Chris) and Mallory Lang (Bill) of Metropolis; and great-grandsons, Xander Burklow, Christopher Alston, and Andrew Lang all of Metropolis; niece, Carol Wood (Rodney) of Rosebud; and other family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 12, at Antioch Baptist Church with interment following in the church cemetery.
