Dr. Allen H. Keough

NORTHBOROUGH Dr. Allen H. Keough, Ph.D., 79, of Northborough, formerly of Sudbury, died Monday, Aug. 25, 2008, in the Life Care Center in Leominster after an illness. Dr. Keough was born April 24, 1929 in Chelsea, son of Henry and Grace (Perkins) Keough. He graduated from Winthrop High School, received his bachelors degree from the University of Massachusett-Amherst, his masters degree from the University of New Hampshire, and his doctorate from M.I.T. in Boston. He had been a chemist in research and development for many years for Johnson & Johnson in New Jersey, the Norton Co. in Worcester, Dennison in Framingham, Metallized Products Inc. in Winchester, and had served on the board of directors for Vitronics Corp. in New Hampshire. Dr. Keough was a member of St. Marks Episcopal Church in Leominster, was an avid bridge player and had belonged to a bridge club. He also had been the editor of the Birchwood News in Northborough. He is survived by his son Allen H. Keough Jr. of Mansfield; five daughters, Cynthia K. Craig and her husband, Rev. James O. Craig III, of Leominster, Valerie M. Keough of Phoenix, Karen G. Keough-Huff and her partner, Christine Keough-Huff, of Holland, Pamela K. Doucette and her husband, Ray, of Maynard, and Christine K. Gerhardt and her husband, Wayne, of Chelmsford; 12 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. His wife, Helen M. (Thidemann) Keough, died in 2003. A memorial service will be held on Friday, Aug. 29, at 11 a.m., in St. Marks Episcopal Church, 60 West St., Leominster. Burial will be private in the Howard Street Cemetery, Northborough. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Marks Church Outreach, 60 West St., Leominster. The Silas F.
