Andrew Rogers Obituary

Andrew Joseph Rogers Jr. 77, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, June 23, 2021 surrounded by his four children and sister. Known to everyone as Drew, he was born and raised in Framingham, the son of Andrew Rogers and Grace (Tirrell) Rogers and nephew of Edna Tirrell. Drew attended St. Stephens Elementary School, Marian High School, Boston College and then went on to get his law degree at Suffolk University. Drew had been living for the past 20 years in North Falmouth to wake up every day near the ocean that he cherished dearly. He remained committed to serving the Framingham community through his active political career as well as his local legal practice that he ran with his sister, Janice. Drew was a true friend to so many and his devotion to those in his life was recognized by all who met him. He loved telling tales about his many adventures and had a unique ability to make everyone around him feel blessed to be in his presence. He was known for his larger than life personality, his generosity and kindness to all who needed it and his unwavering devotion to his family and friends. He brought joy and laughter to all who had the great fortune to meet him. Most of all, Drew loved spending time with his children and grandchildren who he adored and was so very proud of. Always the patriarch, Drew is survived by his children, Kate Coppins & her husband Bobby of Reading, Meredith Greene & her husband Tom of Sudbury, Drew III and his wife Lindsay of Medfield, & Matthew and his wife Kristen of Millis. He was affectionately known as "Buppa" to his grandchildren Connor, Peyton, Owen, Sara, Julianne, Myles, Tenley, Emma, Elizabeth and Colin. He is also survived by his sister, Janice Rogers, of Framingham as well as many nieces, nephews and dear friends. He is predeceased by his wife MaryEllen York and his sister, Judith. Family and friends will honor and remember Drews life by gathering for visiting hours in the McCarthy, McKinney & Lawler Funeral Home, 11 Lincoln St. Framingham on Monday, June 28th from 2-7 P.M. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Stephens Church, 251 Concord St in Framingham on Tuesday morning at 10 oclock. Interment will follow in St Stephens Cemetery. In lieu of flowers and in recognition of Drew's devotion to helping others, donations can be made to the Trevor Project, www.thetrevor project.org, or to the Williams Syndrome Association, www.williams-syndrome.org.
