Ann Zoino Obituary

Ann Louise (Westman) Zoino, age 84, formerly of Brockton and Harwich, passed into heaven on Tuesday, August 16, 2016. She was the beloved wife of William S. Zoino, to whom she was happily married for 55 years and whom she knew for 70 years. Born, raised, and educated in Brockton, she was the daughter of the late Frederick and Louise (Condon) Westman. She grew up in the Campello section of Brockton and was a 1950 graduate of Brockton High School and earned her Baccalaureate Degree in English literature from Brown University. Ann then lived for a year in San Francisco as a copywriter, returning east to work in furniture advertising for the Jordan Marsh Company in Boston. Ann was reacquainted with Bill, a Brockton classmate at their tenth reunion in 1960. They married in 1961 and lived in various locations throughout the country, relocating frequently for his work as a civil engineer. They returned to Massachusetts where Bill and a fellow MIT graduate partnered to establish their own civil engineering firm and the family settled in Brockton. Ann enjoyed creating a warm and fostering home for her growing family and, when her daughters were in school, earned a Master of Library Science from Simmons College. A librarian for nearly thirty years, Ann started her career with the Brockton Public Schools prior to being employed with Massasoit Community College in Canton. During her tenure at Massasoit, she oversaw the conversion of card files to a burgeoning electronic library system and assisted many a student and faculty member with resea- rch. The Zoi nos enjoyed extensive travel in Europe and the South- west after they retired, and lived for many years at their seaside home in Harwich. Ann was also a longtime skat ing enthusiast and a Bruins fan. She was happiest in the company of her family, and in quiet times could often be found researching antiques, reading a good book or watching a foreign film. She is survived by William; their daughters, Julia A. Jeannetti and her husband Ronald of Dedham, Kathryn R. Archard and her husband Steven of Brockton, and Paula M. Dimidis and her husband Craig of Framingham; six grandchildren: Jaclyn (Archard) Weddleton and her husband Mark of Easton, Michael Archard of Boston, Paul Jeannetti of Dedham, and Sophia, William, and Nathaniel Dimidis, all of Framingham; and her brother, F.W. Westman, Jr., and his wife Mary of Bridgewater. Her funeral will be from the John Everett & Sons Funeral Home, 4 Park Street at Natick Common on Saturday, August 20th at 10:30AM with a Mass of Christian Burial in Saint Patricks Church, 44 East Central Street, Natick, at 11:30AM. Burial will follow at Saint Patrick Cemetery. Visiting hours will be on Friday, 4-7PM. Donations may be made in Anns memory to the Sisters of the Visitation, 14 Beach Road, Tyringham, MA 01264.
