Beatrice Cass Obituary

WESTBOROUGH Beatrice F. Cass, 91, of Westborough, died Saturday, July 26, 2008, at the Beaumont Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Center. She was the wife of Joseph E. Cass, who died in 2003. Born in Ayer, she was the daughter of the late J. Owen and Hazel (Brill) Keegan. She was educated in Ayer schools and was a graduate of Worcester City Hospital School of Nursing. Mrs. Cass was employed as a registered nurse at Worcester City Hospital for several years. She was a communicant of St. Luke the Evangelist Church, a former Girl Scout Leader and volunteered at UMass Hospital in Worcester for 17 years. She is survived by three sons, David J. Cass and his wife, Linda, of East Freetown, Joseph E. Cass Jr. and his wife, Maureen, of Omaha, Neb., and Richard J. Cass and his wife, Linda, of Sudbury; three daughters, Kathleen F. Herman and her husband, Maurice, of Potomac Falls, Va., Susan E. Leonard of Dover, N.H., and Sara M. Cass of Westborough. She is also survived by 17 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She was the mother of the late Carol A. Hansbury. Her funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday, July 30, at 10:30 a.m., at St. Luke the Evangelist Church, 70 West Main St., Westborough. Burial will follow in St. Lukes Cemetery. Calling hours at the Britton-Summers Funeral Home, 4 Church St., Westborough, are Tuesday, July 29, from 5 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Westborough Fire/Ambulance Gift Fund, 42 Milk St., Westborough, MA 01581
