Edith Gaucher Obituary

Edith L. (Damico/Dalessio) Gaucher,93, of Marlborough died at home on Saturday (July 16,2011) after being stricken ill. She was the wife of the late Roger A. Gaucher who died in 1981. She leaves her children Ron Gaucher of Marlborough and Karen Widener of Florida. A sister Susan Nicodemo of Saratoga,N.Y. and a brother Robert Dalessio of Hudson. Also leaves her granddaughter Kim Scheller and her husband Jason of PA and three great grandchildren Katelyn, Calvin and Alison. Also leaves her sisters in law Ann Damico and Theresa Duca and many nieces and nephews. Sister of the late Frank Damico, Mary Silva and her husband Manual, Josephine Derosier and her husband Earl, Anne DiEorio and her husband Kelly and her brothers in law Albert Nicodemo and Tony Duca and mother in law to the late Carol Gaucher and Robert Widener. She was born in Akron,Ohio daughter of the late Panflio and Margherita (Damico) Damico and moved to Marlborough in the 1930s and was raised by her mother Margherita and her step father Charlles Dallessio. She attended Marlborough School and was a long time member of St. Ann's Parish where she was a devoted Catholic and gave countless hours working on church committees and being a member of the Holy Rosary Sodality. She also was a member of the Marlboro Senior Citizens,traveling all around by bus with her husband throughout New England and the eastern seaboard and enjoyed going to Hawaii with her husband. She also was a member of the Daughters of Italy. Funeral will be held on Friday (July 22,2011) at 8 A.M. from the John P. Rowe Funeral Home Inc., 57 Main St.,Marlborough with a Mass at 9 A.M. in the Immaculate Conception Church,11 Prospect St., Marlborough. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, Marlborough. Calling hours at the funeral home are Thursday 6 to 8 P.M-.

Deepest condolences to Edith's family. My mom was in the Sodality with Edith,and I have many fond memories of that time. May she rest in peace.
