Edwin Hall Obituary

Edwin G. Hall NATICK Edwin G. Hall, 88, a lifelong resident of Natick, died Thursday, April 3, 2008, at Metro- west Medical Center, Leonard Morse Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Dorothy B. (Howland) Hall for more than 63 years. Born and raised in Natick, he was the son of the late August and Gerta (Anderson) Hall. Edwin was a graduate of Natick High School, Class of 1937. He proudly served his country with the United States Marine Corps in the Pacific during World War II. After the service, Edwin worked as a carpenter for many years with his father, August, building and remodeling homes in the Natick Area. Edwin continued to work as a carpenter for more than 40 years until his retirement. He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Natick, where he was an active member of the choir and taught Sunday school for many years. He was a member of the American Legion Post 107. Edwin was an active community member, often volunteering his services to Natick events. Edwin was a devoted family man. A strong presence at any family gathering, in later years, enjoying watching the great-grandchildren playing at his feet from the comfort of his chair. He will be greatly missed. He was the beloved father of David Hall and his wife, Patricia, of Natick, Nancy Daniels and her husband, Kevin, of Natick, and Marcia Dunbar and her husband, Edison, of Bellingham; beloved grandfather of Jennifer (Hall) McGill and her husband, Ronald, of Natick, Stephen B. Hall and his wife, Stephanie, of Natick, Mark Daniels and his wife, Diane, of Douglas, Kimberley (Daniels) Simard and her husband, Christopher, of Whitinsville, Kyle Dunbar and Keith Dunbar, both of Bellingham; beloved great-grandfather of Cameron and Connor McGill of Natick and Morgan, Mitchell and Jack Simard of Whitinsville; uncle of many cherished nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late George R. Hall, Henry R. Hall and Walter E. Hall; brother-in-law of Effie Hall of Nashua, Lila Hall of Centerville and the late Dorothy Danforth Hall. A memorial service will be held on Monday, April 7, at 10 a.m. at Christ Lutheran Church, 113 Union St., Natick. Visiting hours will be Sunday, April 6, from 3 to 7 p.m., at John Everett and Sons Funeral Home, 4 Park St. at Natick Common (www.everettfuneral.com). Burial will be in Dell Park Cemetery, Natick, at the convenience of the family. The family requests memorial contributions be made to Christ Lutheran Church Memorial Fund at Christ Lutheran, 113 Union St., Natick, MA 01760.
