Elizabeth Denham

Elizabeth Ellen (Mitchell) Denham, 86, of Framingham, died on Sunday, September 14, 2014. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, James H. Denham, in 2007. Elizabeth was born in Framingham, daughter of the late Frederick J. and Agnes G.Y. (Nelson) Mitchell. She was a longtime resident of Framingham before her retirement to Brewster. Elizabeth attended local schools and was a graduate of Framingham High School. For many years she worked in the cafeteria at Framingham South High School. In addition to raising and spending time with her family, Elizabeth enjoyed her gardening and life on Cape Cod. Elizabeth is survived by her three children, James F. Denham and his wife Diana of Framingham, Scott M. Denham and his wife Katherine of Framingham and Lisa A. McMahon and her husband Richard J. of Ashland. She is also survived by her grandchildren, James S. Denham and his wife Katy of Attleboro, Christina Denham-Sherlock and her husband Jay of Tennessee, Matthew J. Denham and his wife Katlin of Framingham, Danielle Denham of New Jersey, Katherine Denham Smith and her husband Benjamin of Framingham, Elizabeth M. Denham of Somerville, Michael S. Denham of Brookline, Rich J. McMahon and his partner Regina Avallone of Charlton, Michael R. McMahon of Ashland and Jeffrey T. McMahon of Ashland. Elizabeth is also survived by her great-grandchildren, James Bradlee Denham, Maeve and Nora Denham-Sherlock, Arya Denham, Abigail Smith and many nieces and nephews. A Funeral service will be held at the Eugene J. McCarthy and Sons Funeral Home, 11 Lincoln Street, Framingham, on Thursday September 18, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at the Edgell Grove Cemetery in Framingham. Family and friends may attend calling hours on Wednesday September 17, 2014 at the Eugene J. McCarthy and Sons Funeral Home from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in Elizabeths memory may be made to the Framingham Heart Study, 73 Mount Wayte, Framingham, MA 01702
