John B. Monteiro

John B. Monteiro, 70, a longtime resident of Hudson, died peacefully surrounded by his family on Saturday morning, Nov. 20, 2010. John was a devoted friend to many, caring brother, adored father and grandfather and a loving husband. He will be truly missed by all who knew him. He was a dedicated employee of 49 years as the Facilities Manager at The Entwistle Company of Hudson. Active member of St. Michaels Church and a longtime member of the Elks. His hobbies included playing with his grandchildren, claming and fishing on Cape Cod, home improvements and travel. Son of the late Francisco P. Monteiro and Maria Braga Monteiro and brother Jose Monteiro. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Maria I (Carvalho) Monteiro of Hudson, his three children Linda Monteiro-Hopper of Westport, Conn., and Mark and Paul Monteiro of Hudson, his six grandchildren; Cassia (12), Michael (10), Alex (1), Juliana (10), John Paul (4) and Matthew (2), his sister Maria L. Monteiro of Hudson, and his brother, Antonio Monteiro of Worcester. A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, Nov. 24, at 10:30 a.m., in Saint Michaels Church, 21 Manning St., Hudson. Burial will follow in Saint Michaels Cemetery, Hudson.
