Joseph Armstrong Obituary

MARLBOROUGH Joseph H. "Uncle Joe" Armstrong, 77, of Marlborough died Saturday, March 8, 2008, at MetroWest Medical Center in Framingham after an illness. He leaves his sister, Mary Armstrong of Marlborough, and several cousins, nieces and nephews. He ws the cousin of the late Richard W. Kelleher. He was born in Marlborough, son of the late Dr. Irving S. and Katherine A. (King) Armstrong, and was a lifelong resident of Marlborough. He was a graduate of Marlborough High School and a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. For many years, he was the owner and manager of the former Sheehan Clothing Co. for men on Main Street in Marlborough. He was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church. He vacationed on the Cape with his family, and he always drove a Buick. His funeral will be held at 8 a.m. Friday, March 10, from John P. Rowe Funeral Home Inc., 57 Main St., Marlborough, with a funeral Mass at 9 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Church, 11 Prospect St., Marlborough. Burial with military honors will follow in Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Marlborough. A calling time will be held prior to the Mass Friday from 8 to 8:45 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in his memory to Alzheimer's Unit at St. Patricks Manor, 863 Central St., Framingham, MA 01701.
