We, as well as many of our Seton Hall Classmates, are very saddened at the death of Mike. He was a real good man and will always be remembered in our hearts.
We know that all the cherished memories you have as a family will be of help as you try to go on with your lives. May God bless you all and may his comforting love bring you peace at this very difficult time.

I had the immense pleasure of meeting the Merrill family only last year. I was very saddened to hear of Michael's passing, still 'young'. My sincere sympathy to a wonderful, strong family, in good times and in rough times.

I graduated Seton Hall with Mike & didn't kno him very well. However, Mike was a special guy who paid attention to details, esp on Email. Altho he was a quiet guy, his encouragement & kind words were truly a testimony to his character. He looked forward to our next reunion; we'll see that one in heaven, Mike. My prayers & comfort go to the family. Ann "Cats".

To Michael's family
I was a classmate at Seton Hall and always thought Mike to be a wonderful person. A kind classmate saw the notice in Newsday and let more of us know of his passing. I know he will be missed.

To my dear friend Diane:
I was very saddened to hear of your families loss. As you have always been a true friend and second mom, I came across this quote and immediately though of you. You had a way of always lifting individuals spirits and simply putting a smile on someone's face from across the miles.
"The tide recedes, but leaves behind bright seashells on the sand.
The sun goes down, but gentle warmth still lingers in the land.
The music stops, and yet it echoes on in sweet refrains.
For every joy that passes, something beautiful remains."
You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers and shall our friendship last forever.
