Rita Bertozzi Obituary

NEWTON Rita (Christensen) Bertozzi, 85, of Newton, formerly of Framingham, died on Friday, Oct. 31, 2008, at the Hebrew Rehabilitation Center in Roslindale. She was the wife of Joseph Bertozzi, who died in 1968. Born in Boston and raised in Everett, daughter of the late Serin and Ruby (Bellew) Christensen, she had lived in Newton for more than 22 years. She had previously been a longtime Framingham resident. Prior to retiring, she was employed as an administrative assistant with the Navy Clothing, Textiles and Research Labs in Natick, for more than 20 years. She is survived by three daughters, Carole Black and her husband, Larry, of Newton, Janice Bertozzi and her husband, Fred White, of Incline Village, Nev., and Irene Bertozzi Bartenstein and her husband, John, of Lexington; six grandchildren, Jason White, Nicholas White, Julie Black, Stephen Bartenstein, Christopher Bartenstein and Diana Bartenstein; and a great-grandson, Simon White. A funeral service will take place Tuesday, Nov. 4, at 9:30 a.m., from the Eugene J. McCarthy and Sons Funeral Home, 11 Lincoln St., Framingham, followed by a funeral Mass at 10 a.m., at St. Bridgets Church, 830 Worcester Road (Rte. 9), Framingham Centre. Visitation at the funeral home will be on Tuesday, before the Mass, from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m.. Burial will be in St. Stephens Cemetery in Framingham. Relatives and friends are invited to call at the home of Carole and Larry Black in Newton on Tuesday from 1 to 3 p.m.
