Shirley Macchi Obituary

FRAMINGHAM Shirley G. (Bensaia) Macchi of Framingham, formerly of Hyde Park and Jamaica Plain, passed away Nov. 20, 2008, surrounded by her family. She was 83. She was the beloved wife of the late Matthew McGovern and Alfred Macchi. Born in Boston, she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Grace (Lane) Bensaia. She was the devoted mother of Linda J. (McGovern) Davies and her husband, Wayne, of Hopkinton and Valerie G. (McGovern) Ryder and her husband, Charles, of Walpole. She was the loving and cherished grandmother of Matthew and Jason Ryder and Garrett and Brandt Davies. She was the sister of the late Alvan Bensaia. Her funeral will be from P.E. Murray-George F. Doherty & Sons Funeral Home, 2000 Centre St., West Roxbury, Tuesday at 9 a.m., with a funeral Mass at St. Theresas Church, West Roxbury, at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Visiting hours are Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. Interment is in St. Josephs Cemetery, West Roxbury.

Shirley was a wonderful lady, a friend and customer of ours at our automotive business in Framingham. She and Al loved going to Poland Springs to stay. She was a very caring wife to our friend Al Macchi whom we also miss. God rest her soul.
