COVINGTON -- Alvern Dwayne Robertson, age 75 of Covington, passed away Friday, February 4, 2022 at the Upper Valley Medical Center. Dwayne was born in Kansas City, MO on October 19, 1946 the son of the (late) Alverne Frank & Helen Louise (Garrison) Robertson; served in the National Guard; received his Associate Degree from Northern Virginia Community College; retired from Central Intelligence Agency in October, 1994; was a Realtor with Coldwell Banker of Dale City, VA 1992 – 2003; member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints; served on the Covington Planning & Zoning Board of Appeals; member and Past President of Covington/Newberry Historical Society; was a volunteer at Troy Kettering Hospital and previously at Upper Valley Medical Center, Troy; loved gardening and planted a large garden every year; his younger self loved bowling; loved baseball and was a season ticket holder for the Dayton Dragons; enjoyed wood crafting; and enjoyed watching ME TV. Dwayne married his wife, Joyce Ann Abshire, of Covington, on August 19, 1972 and she survives. He is also survived by his children, Angela Jannett (Wade) Fletcher of Falls Church, VA, Paul Javan Robertson of Tipp City, and Spencer Lee Robertson of Covington; two grandchildren, Denver Casner Fletcher and Jaina Abshire Fletcher, both of Falls Church, VA; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Nancy McClurg of Piqua, Diana & Steve Good of Covington, Doreen & Chris Miller of Springboro; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral Service 11:00 AM Tuesday, February 15th at Bridges-Stocker-Fraley Funeral Home, Covington with Bishop Eric Russell officiating. Interment Miami Memorial Park Cemetery, Covington. Visitation will be 5-8 PM Monday the 14th at the funeral home. If desired, contributions may be made to the Covington Fire & Rescue (EMT's).
