TROY — Byron D. Jackson, 74, of Troy, passed away Tuesday, April 5, 2016, at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center. Byron was born in Troy, Ohio, to Clyde and Jane (Thompson) Jackson. He married Carol Peacock on Sept. 3, 1960.
Byron is survived by his loving wife Carol; mother Jane Jackson; son Deron (Dana) Jackson-Webb; daughter June (Bill) Jackson-Kaminski; granddaughter Taylor (Cody) Bame; sister Jolene (Lynn) Shellenberger; sisters-in-law Nancy (Joel) Walker, Peggy (Curtis) Crowther.
He was preceded in death by his father Clyde Jackson.
Byron graduated from Newton High School. where he was an active member of the FFA. He then went on to obtain a degree in electronics. He retired from Hobart Brothers, where he had worked for 38 years. Byron had a love for aviation and enjoyed utilizing his pilot's license flying around the Miami County and surrounding areas.
He was a lifetime member of the Pleasant Hill Church of the Brethren. He loved traveling with his wife Carol, cherished spending time with his family, and enjoyed a lifelong passion of farming.
A memorial service will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, April 9, at the Pleasant Hill Church of the Brethren, 300 E. Monument St., Pleasant Hill, with Pastor Eugene Oburn officiating. A private graveside service will be held at Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer memorial contributions to be made to Hospice of Miami County (www.hospiceofmiamicounty.org); University of Cincinnati Heart, Lung & Vascular Institute (www.uchealth.com/foundation); FFA (www.ffa.org/support/foundation).
