PIQUA - Carol Ann Baumhauer, age 76, of Piqua, Ohio, passed away peacefully after a long courageous battle with Alzheimer Disease on Wednesday, December 25, 2024.
She was born on July 14, 1948, in McDonald, Ohio, to the late Lloyd Fisher and Betty Fisher. In addition to her parents, Carol is preceded in death by her sister, Diane Fritz.
She will be missed by her daughter, Chrissy (Scott) Latham; son, Jonny (Leah) Baumhauer; brothers, Don (Jan) Fisher, and Ken (Jan Hartman) Fisher; grandchildren, Tyler (Chelsey Lephart) Latham, Carrie (Alan Yount) Latham, Tate (Mikaela Griffieth) Latham, Sam Baumhauer, and Annabelle Baumhauer; great granddaughters, Leia Latham, Iris Yount, and another one on the way; several nieces and nephews, and many friends.
Carol graduated from McDonald High School in 1966. She built her career in the insurance business, running her own business, Baumhauer Insurance Agency, and later became the director of SBDC. She retired as the Region Director at Ohio Small Business Development at Wright State University. Carol helped many people start their own businesses, including her children. Carol belonged to the Piqua Downtown Association and was a founding member of the Underwear Festival. She was also a Girl Scout leader and board member for Girl Scouts. She enjoyed shopping and spending time with her family.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. She was such a fun person to be around. I enjoyed our time working for the Girl Scouts and in her insurance office. I always felt so bad for her at Piqua Manor. She's whole now.
