David Murray Obituary

TROY -- David C. Murray, 54, of Troy, passed away at 11:48 a.m. Friday August 19, 2022 at his residence. He was born September 26, 1967 in Piqua to Douglas R. and Bonnie J. (Zimmerman) Murray of Piqua. He married Linda J. Bell August 13, 1994 in San Antonio, Texas; and she survives.

In addition to his parents and wife, David is survived by two daughters, Rachel Murray of Carrboro, North Carolina, Laura Murray of Troy; three siblings, Skip (Carrie) Murray, Angie (Troy) Ouhl, Kelly (Evan) Thomas all of Piqua; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister Kimberly Sue Murray.

Mr. Murray was a 1985 graduate of Piqua High School and earned his degree in Accounting from Miami University in 1989. He worked with the Murray Wells Wendeln & Robinson Accounting firm before establishing his successful firm, David C. Murray & Co. in Troy. He was a member of the American Institute of CPA's, the Ohio Society of CPA's, St. John's Lutheran Church of Vandalia, the Troy Chamber of Commerce where he served as its President and on its Ambassadors Committee, Troy Business Networking International, and served on Advisory Committees for several charitable efforts including Riverside of Miami County. He will be remembered for his love of music having been an accomplished musician with several instruments. He will be deeply missed by his family and many friends.

A service to honor his life will begin at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, August 25, 2022 at the Jamieson & Yannucci Funeral Home with Pastor Gilbert Santiago officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions in David's name are suggested to the Piqua Education Foundation, P. O. Box 201, Piqua, OH 45356 or the Troy Foundation, 216 W. Franklin St., Troy, OH 45373. Guestbook condolences and expressions of sympathy, to be provided to the family, may be expressed through jamiesonandyannucci.com.
