TROY -- Dorothy V. Wion, age 65, of Troy, OH passed away at 11:00 PM on Saturday, June 4, 2022 at her residence. Dorothy was born in Piqua, OH on April 5, 1957 to the late Max and Patricia (Stambaugh) Perkins. On March 3, 1985 she married Tom Wion and he survives.
Dorothy is survived by two daughters: Kelly Swartz (Brian King), Lima, OH; April Tedore, Troy, OH; one son: Harold Engley III, Sidney, OH; two brothers: Thomas (Dee) Perkins, Centerville, OH; and Ed Byers, Piqua, OH; one sister: Julia Perkins, Piqua, OH; fifteen grandchildren: Andrew Swartz, Kaitlyn Henderson, Tyler Swartz, Jordan Sweet, Taylor Morrow, Abi Cole, Kristen Morrow-Carver, Bobby Morrow II, Skylar Engley, Sierra Engley, Stormie Engley, Hope Engley/Nill, Hailey Engley/Nill, Hayden Engley/Nill, Kayden King and ten great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by one brother: Jim Perkins.
Dorothy graduated from Piqua Central High School in 1976, and then received her Associates Degree and Bachelor Degree in Business Administration from University of Phoenix. She was an active church member at Grace Family Worship and Piqua Baptist Church. She went on the Walk to Emmaus. Dorothy was employed in the administrative and procurement departments at Wright Patterson Air Force Base in Fairborn, OH for 18 years. She loved to bake, shopping, and the Lord.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, June 9, 2022 at Melcher-Sowers Funeral Home, Piqua, with Pastor Eugene Collier and Pastor Don Wells officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery, Piqua. The family will receive friends from 5-8 PM on Wednesday, June 8, 2022 at the funeral home.
