PIQUA - Evelyn L. "Evie" Riesenbeck, age 87, went home to be with the Lord peacefully surrounded by her loving family at 1:31 AM on Saturday June 1, 2024, at her residence.
She was born September 10, 1936, in Piqua, OH. to the late William and Helen (Fuller) Stahl. She married Donald L. Riesenbeck on January 5, 1957, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Piqua, OH. He preceded her in death on March 14, 2010.
Evie is survived by one son and daughter-in-law: James (Lisa) Riesenbeck, Piqua, OH and one daughter: Lori Riesenbeck, Piqua, OH; three sisters: Dorothy Galligan, Piqua, OH, Patsy Williams, Arizona, and Helen "Joan" Lange, Piqua, OH; four grandchildren: James Tyler Riesenbeck, Brennan P. Riesenbeck, Paige A. (Zakk) Weichbrodt, and Benjamin VandeGrift; two great-grandchildren: Lincoln F. Weichbrodt and August J. Weichbrodt. She was preceded in death by two sons: Michael D. Riesenbeck, John D. Riesenbeck; six brothers: William Stahl, Earnest Stahl, Robert Stahl, James Stahl, Donald Stahl and Larry Stahl.
Evie graduated from Piqua Central High School in 1954. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Piqua, OH. Evie was a devoted homemaker and wife, however Evie worked for G.C. Murphy in Piqua in the office for several years. She retired from Miami Industry's in Piqua after 25 years of service.
Evie was an avid Ohio State Buckeye Fan. She enjoyed shopping and adding to her bear collection. Evie enjoyed watching the Andy Griffith Show and game shows. She volunteered for the American Heart Association for many years. Evie was the caregiver to her father-in-law Raymond Riesenbeck. She especially loved to spend precious time with her family.
The family would like to give a special thank you to the nurses of Fidelity Health Care and to Ohio's Hospice of Miami County for their loving care of our mother.
A private graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are being handled by Melcher-Sowers Funeral Home, Piqua, OH.
