STRAWBERRY POINT, IA - Freda Rose Bodiker, 82, of Strawberry Point, Iowa, passed away on Monday, August 2, 2021, at her home. She was born on September 16, 1938, in Bond, Kentucky, the daughter of Alfred and Nellie (Young) Baldwin. Freda was raised in Kentucky and went to school through 8th grade.
On April 16, 1955, Freda was united in marriage to Guy Welker in Ohio. Four children were born to this union. Freda and Guy were later divorced. On November 9, 1974, Freda was united in marriage to Ralph E. Bodiker in Tipp City, Ohio.
Freda loved the beach and having family gatherings there. She loved to travel. Freda had various occupations throughout her life, but was best known as "The Avon Lady". She enjoyed having breakfast and coffee out at the local diners each morning. Freda loved her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren very much.
Survivors include her four children, Steve Welker of Troy, Ohio, Mark (Mary) Welker of LaBelle, Florida, Sharon Bryant of Cherokee, Alabama, and Glenna (Andy) Anderson of Strawberry Point; her 17 grandchildren; her many great-grandchildren; her seven siblings, Jean Weaver, Beulah Gee, Homer (Sheila) Baldwin, Shirley Issacs, Ginny Campbell, Mike (Candy) Young, and Wayne (Christine) Young; and many nieces and nephews.
Freda was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ralph, in 1989; her two brothers, David Baldwin and Hank Baldwin; and four brothers-in-law, Roger Young, Dennis Weaver, Jerry Gee, and Dale Isaacs.
