PIQUA -- Hubert P. Bateman, 91, of Piqua, passed away peacefully at 3:00 a.m. Friday February 25, 2022 at Piqua Manor Nursing Home. He was born February 16, 1931 in Nelsonville to the late Robert and Edith (Womsley) Bateman. He married DiAnn J. Harris June 28, 1952 in Dayton, a marriage that would span over sixty-nine years; and she survives.
Other survivors include three sons, Roger Bateman of Piqua, Ralph (Jeri) Bateman of Piqua; Robert (Marta) Bateman of Sidney; five grandchildren; twenty-five great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers, three sisters, and a daughter-in-law Pamela Bateman.
Mr. Bateman earned his Registered X-ray Technician degree from the Metro General Hospital of Cleveland. He retired as the Chief X-ray Technician for the Piqua Memorial Medical Center. He served as the President of both the Dayton Radiological Society and the Ohio Radiological Society. With his wife, they were very active with the Boy Scout organization for over twenty-eight years. He was a member of Greene Street United Methodist Church. He will be remembered for his friendship and love of family.
A service to honor his life will begin at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 2, 2022 at the Jamieson & Yannucci Funeral Home with Rev. Will Leasure officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Guestbook condolences and expressions of sympathy, to be provided to the family, may be expressed through jamiesonandyannucci.com.

Ralph and Roger, I am so very sorry to hear of the passing of your father. I remember him and your mother so well from when we all attended High St. School. I will be thinking of you and your families.
