I went to Lowes today and was told the news. I was sadden immediately. JD was an awesome man. Whenever he see me he would call me "BIG GUY" with his big gravel voice. I am a handyman so I frequent Lowes on a regular basis, when I went to mill work to order windows or doors, I would end up Sitting there for hours chatting with JD. He would talk about his last vacation and the next vacation he is planning with his wife and kids. My condolences to JD' s family. May god continue to bless you all.

There are very few people in this world who instantly make you laugh and feel good to be around. He was also incredibly generous: he went out of his way to help my husband and I with our wedding ceremony. That will never be forgotten.I am so fortunate to have had the chance to meet him a few times. The most recent was in May and we had a blast! His wife and children are awesome too, my heart goes out to them. The world lost an awesome man.

So many great memories of JD. My very first snowmobile trip in Michigan was with him, and many more that followed. Boating at St. Marys in his fathers classic boat was so fun. We shared several classes at WSU as well. In particular, a human sexuality class where he had the whole class cracking up most of the time. The teacher had his hands full with us. I remember one late night after a bonfire at my house he decided to sleep in my hammock. The next morning about 4 cats had found quite the comfy sleeping spot right on top of him. I regret not snapping a picture of that one. I could go on and on. But I guess the one greatest thing I'll remember about JD is just what a great person he was. Always willing to lend a hand, or just there to crack a joke, or offer words of encouragement to make you feel better. I used to visit him at Lowes simply because I always walked away in a better mood. I know right now he's riding God's fastest snowmobile, on some sweet trails made of the freshest powder. I'll certainly miss you buddy.
