ST. PARIS - Katherine E. Pence Nothstine, age 101, of St. Paris, Ohio passed away on Saturday, April 10, 2021 at 12:20 a.m. in Troy, Ohio. Born on June 22, 1919 in Champaign County, Katherine was the daughter of the late Charles S. and Hazel (Blue) Greer.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband, Norman Pence in 1977, and her second husband, Reverend Alfred Nothstine in 1989, a son Dennis Pence, a step son Harry Nothstine and her brother and sister-in-law, Melvin and Marjory Greer.
Katherine was a 1937 graduate of Westville High School. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of St. Paris where she was the organist and participated in many church functions. She retired in 1980 from Graham Local Schools where she worked in the cafeteria. She was also a resident of Dundee, MI from 1980-1992 where she participated in the Dundee Michigan Senior Citizens.
Katherine is survived by two sons, Donald D. (Jane) Pence of Troy, OH, Duane (Lisa) Pence of New Carlisle, OH and a daughter, Judy Gray of St. Paris, OH. She was a loving grandmother to 10 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandson.
She is also survived by a stepdaughter, Nancy Speaks of Springfield, OH, 6 step grandchildren, and 3 step great grandchildren.

A visitation for family and friends will be held on Wednesday, April 14, 2021 from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. in the Atkins-Shively Funeral Home, 216 S. Springfield Street, Saint Paris, Ohio. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 15, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. in the First Baptist Church, St. Paris, Ohio with Reverend Jeremy Spence and Reverend Dr. Jim Vanzile presiding. Burial will follow in Upper Honey Creek Cemetery, S. Elm Tree Road, St. Paris, Ohio.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Food for the Soul, C/O First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 584, St. Paris, Ohio 43072. Condolences to the family may be made at www.shivelyfuneralhomes.com.
