PIQUA -- Kathy D. Califf, 90 of Piqua, passed away Sunday, November 21, 2021 after a brief illness. She was born June 15, 1931 in Chicago, Illinois and married Daniel F. Califf November 21, 1953 in Arlington Heights, Illinois and he survives.
Other survivors include three children, John (Joan) Califf of Findlay, Charles (Beth) Califf of Greendale, Indiana, and Beth (Gary) Gibbons of Overland Park, Kansas; seven grandchildren; also many nieces, nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by a brother, Michael Shanklin.
Mrs. Califf was a graduate of Arlington Heights High School in Illinois, in 1949 and received her teaching degree from Carthage College in Carthage, Illinois. She was a longtime member of Greene Street United Methodist Church. Kathy was a teacher for many years at Bennett Junior High in Piqua and enjoyed connecting with her many students over the years. She enjoyed flowers, gardening, antiques and spending time with family.
A service to honor her life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, November 26, 2021 at Greene Street United Methodist Church with Rev. Will Leasure officiating. Burial will be held at Forest Hill Cemetery. Jamieson & Yannucci Funeral Home is assisting the family. Memorial contributions may be made to Greene Street United Methodist Church, 415 W.
