Mabel Dearth

1919 - 2021

EATON -- Mabel A. Dearth, age 102, of Eaton, OH went to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 18, 2021 at Vancrest Healthcare Center in Eaton. She was born May 16, 1919 in Potsdam, OH to the late George and Grace (Wissinger) Karns and was the fourth in line of nine children. She married Harry Dearth in April of 1937. Harry passed away in 1992 after 55 years of marriage. In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by her brothers Forest Karns and Jack Karns; and sisters Helen Sebring, Mary Blackburn, Betty Thompson and June Walker; nephew Jim Dearth and several other nieces and nephews. She will be missed by her brother and his wife, Tom and Dolores Karns and sister Susan Helton both of West Milton, OH. Also missing her are many nieces and nephews and special friends. She lived on the farm located on Lexington Road in West Alexandria for over 50 years, where she farmed alongside of her husband Harry. She also worked at Dayton Flexible in Eaton, OH. After retiring, she moved to Buckeye Drive in Eaton for 20 years until she moved to Vancrest Senior living. Mabel was a member of Eaton Church of the Brethren for many years. Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 23, 2021 from 10:00 am until time of funeral service at 11:00 am at the Gard Funeral Home (formerly Lindloff-Zimmerman), 67 W.
