TROY -Ned Lowell Wackler, age 97 of Troy, reunited with his wife Joan on Wednesday, September 18, 2024.
He was born March 9, 1927, in Piqua to the late John and Ruth Wackler.
On June 26, 1948, Ned was united in marriage to Barbara Joan Stubbs in Piqua. She preceded him in death on December 28, 2019. He was also preceded in death by three siblings.
He is survived by his daughters Vicky (Craig) Stammen and Arlene (Bill) Brown; son Ron (Marcy)Wackler; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Ned enlisted and served his country during WWII in the US Navy. He worked for Nationwide Insurance for 41 years and Miami Mutual for 10 years. He enjoyed traveling and looked forward to going to Florida with his wife and walking on the beach. Ned was a member of Troy Baptist Church, serving as deacon for 18 years and an usher for 20 years.
A funeral service will be held 1:00PM Wednesday, September 25, 2024, at Fisher-Cheney Funeral Home, Troy with Pastor David Thomasson officiating. Visitation will be from 12:00PM-1:00PM prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment to follow in Riverside Cemetery, Troy with military honors by the Veteran's Memorial Honor Guard of Troy. Memorial contributions may be given to Troy Baptist Church or Hospice of Miami County. Arrangements entrusted to Fisher-Cheney Funeral Home, Troy.
