CONSTANCE WEBER Obituary

Mrs. Constance "Connie" Catherine Weber, 97, of Ruth, went home to the loving arms of Jesus on Monday, Jan. 2, 2017, after a brief illness, just 12 short days before her 98th birthday. Connie was born on Jan. 14, 1919, in Harbor Beach, to the late Mathias "Matt" and Catherine (Schulte) Forthoffer. She married Irvin J. Weber on Oct. 31, 1942, at Our Lady of Lake Huron Catholic Church in Harbor Beach. He preceded her in death on April 15, 2010, after 67 wonderful years together. Connie worked in various occupations, including waitressing at the Harbor Beach Resort, Williams Inn and Sanders in Detroit. She also worked as a nanny in New Jersey for a while. Connie's greatest work was as a farmer's wife and a wonderful mother to ten children. She was a faithful parishioner of Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Holy Apostle Parish in Ruth. Connie was a long time member of the Christian Mothers and had served in many different capacities within the organization. Connie is survived by her ten loving children, Marshall (Virginia) Weber, Br. Columban Weber, OSCO (Richard), Mary Ann (Paul) Holdwick, Gloria (Julius) Traub, Carl (Susanna) Weber, Douglas Weber, Karen (Gordon) Clor, Patricia (Richard) Kolar, Robert (Laurie) Weber, Linda (Scott) Smith. Connie will forever live on in the hearts of her 26 adoring grandchildren and 26 loving great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by two sons, Dennis (1949), Merlin (1954); granddaughter, Tracy Weber Humpert; sister, Margaret Hennig; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Alvina (Vincent) Volmering, Eugene (Joann) Weber, Viola Weber, Iola Darden and Gladys (Harry) Herrin. Mass of Christian burial will be 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 5, 2017, at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church of Holy Apostles Parish, Ruth. Rev. Christopher Coman, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 1:30 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 4, 2017, at the Zinger-Smigielski Funeral Home in Ubly and from 9 to 10 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 5, 2017. There will be a Christian Mother Rosary at 4 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 4, 2017, and a parish vigil service at 7 p.m. Both services will be at the funeral home. Memorials have been requested to Sts. Peter & Paul Church, Harbor Beach Food Pantry or the donor's choice. Please visit www.smigielskifuneralhomes.com to express your sympathy and sign the guest book for Connie's family.

Dear Weber Family,
What a great neighbor she and your whole family were when I was growing up across the field there on Munford Road. She always had a smile for me!

May the memories that mean the most to you live forever in your hearts.
