Corey "Corby" Rogers, 36, passed away unexpectedly near Davison, Michigan, on May 12, 2025.
Born in Saginaw on February 2, 1989, Corey was one of a kind. He had a laugh you could hear across the room and a smile that made people feel instantly at ease. His energy lit up every space he walked into - he had that rare kind of presence that made you feel better just being around him.
Corey loved working with his hands. Whether he was under the hood of a car or knee-deep in a project, he was in his element. He believed in hard work, staying busy, and doing things the right way. If you needed help, he showed up - no questions asked.
He leaves behind his wife, Miranda, and three children: Skyler, Lenalee, and Emmett, who were the heart of his world. He's also survived by his father, Arthur Rogers; his mother, Debra Yost; his grandmother, Inis Yost; his brother, Cody Rogers; his sister, Hannah Parker; as well as many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and his best friend, Ricky Harper.
Corey is now reunited with his brother, Grant Nichols; his grandparents, Jerry and Joanne Rogers; his grandfather, Frederick Yost; and his aunt, Mary Rogers.
He'll be remembered for his big heart, his contagious laugh, and the way he made people feel like they were always in on the joke. The world feels a little dimmer without him in it - but his love, his stories, and his light will carry on in all of us.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 17, 2025, at 1 p.m. at Kaufman Funeral Home in Bad Axe. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the service begins. Following the service, a luncheon will be provided at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Bad Axe at 2 p.m.
