Emma K. Howard, 97, of Caseville, Michigan passed away on September 25, 2025 with her daughter, Mary, nearby at Scheurer Hospital Hospice Wing. Emma was born on November 9, 1927 to the late John and Emma Guza.
Emma married Bob Howard from the Caseville area. Bob and Emma worked hard on Bob's family farm. Soon, four kids were born and worked alongside their dad and mom. Emma's mother-in-law Edith Howard, encouraged Emma to find time to have some relaxation amidst the responsibilities of the farm and raising children. Emma took the advice to heart. She took up golfing and bowling. She and Bob became members of the Caseville Methodist Church. Emma eventually played Bridge. Sometimes Bob and Emma golfed together, and they also square-danced.
They had a couple of special trips together, also, the two of them went to Hawaii. Before Bob passed away from Parkinson's, they took a trip of a lifetime with friends to Great Britain.
Emma is survived by three children, Georgia (Joe) Auer of Unionville, Mich., Mike Howard of Laguna Woods, Calif., and Mary Howard of Oak Park, Mich. One son, Greg Howard, died in a water accident in Washington State in August of this year. Grandchildren, Sarah Perry (Tommy) from Trumansburg, N.Y., Becky Auer of Pinnebog, Mich., and JJ "Lii Su" presently of a camp near Perrysville, Ohio. Great-grandchildren, Ryan and Wesley Perry from N.Y., Nailah from Bay City, Riley Campbell from Flint, Mich., Mikey, Melody and Dakota McCue from Pinnebog, Mich.
A special thanks to all the workers with A&D Hospice. We appreciated all of you so much for Mom's care and encouragement, and support of Georgia and daughter Becky as caregivers.
A memorial will be held at 12 Noon on October 25, 2025, at Caseville Methodist Church. A meal will be held in the Church basement following the service.
